Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Wii Fit skiing

Has anyone tried the wii fit skiing package as we have heard that it is quite similar to the actions required for real skiing and wondered if it was worth a go?

It's quite good fun as part of the whole wii fit package but don't get too excited. The novelty wears off after a couple of "runs" and as with most of the games on wii fit, it only bears a very vague resemblance to the real action. Also you can get by without using any technique.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Yes you're right. This time I had a couple of lessons early in the holiday,- but I got so bogged down in the science and technique that it completely restricted my enjoyment. In the end I decided to sod the technique, just have fun, let the adrenalin kick in and I had a blast and have never skiied so well!

Key question; is it worth the £70?

Yes, at least my 15 year old daughter says so. It was a birthday present and she is very impressed. There are a good variety of games and exercises and scores to beat etc.
It's certainly better value than some of the games my son has had for say, xbox 360, that cost £40 and he completes them in a few hours.

It's well worth £70, but not for the ski game. It's just a simple balancing exercise, not a ski simulator.
Think of Wii Fit as more of an interactive floor exercise workout i.e yoga stretches, muscle exercises, balance co-ordination, steps etc.

But there are some specific ski/snowboard games coming out soon that use the balance board.

Wii Fit is quite a good laugh. The whole family can do some form of exercise in a fun way. Ski game is ok but I wouldnt spend 70 notes on the Wii fit just for that.
One thing I did see on the Nintendo web site is a new game called Family Ski that is being released in June this year. Looks like a laugh. I found a vid of a part of the game here

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/29947.html

Im sure if you look on Youtube there will be more footage.

Looks like its already available in Japan and it also looks like you can use a Wii Fit board with it as well. The kids are already pestering me to order one so I will probably end up coughing up the readies when it becomes available. Very Happy

Wii fit is good fun, but the skiing is nothing like skiing.
