Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I went boarding in Pas at the start of April and we had their best snow of the season. This weekend was a boys weekend away in Jalon Valley, Spain so I was keen to see how much it had all melted away, from the window seat of my Ryanair flight.
OMG the whole of that part of the Pyrenees is covered. There's more snow there now than when the season ended. The webcams show mile after mile of un tracked mountains. Its driving me mad as I have said I won't board again until December, well not for a whole week anyway. So I was thinking...
Do the lifts open at weekends when its this good out of season?

, don't know about the Pyrenees, but not round here they don't. However, although the coverage is good, the long days and warm temperatures are taking their toll and the snow is pretty sludgy by mid-day except at the highest altitudes. So it wouldn't be as good now as when you were there at the beginning of April. If you want to go sliding now, you'll have to hike.... still plenty of people doing that.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

, Your right, best snow of the season was the week after Grandvalira closed, although the last week open was quite good too.
It takes too many people to man the resort to make it economical to open. All the tour op reps headed down to the coastal resorts last week of March, hardly anyone on the mountain apart from groups of BASI and CSIA students.
The Monday morning after it closed
A week after it closed.
