Poster: A snowHead

It's time to put away the equipment until next season and I would welcome advice on how to dry/clean the hydration unit of my BCA Stash Backpack and the best way to store it.
It seems impossible to completely dry the polythene bladder and tube, will this cause problems with mould, bacteria etc. when stored over the summer?

bh1, cleaning it is the easy bit, drying out for storage is the art, you need something like the camelbak thing or a home made one to air the bladder fully

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

johnw, either lidl or aldi have a cheapo cleaning kit on offer sometimes.
Failing that, rinse out well before you store at and again when when you next use it. I have yet to hear of fatal camelbak poisoning.

leave it in your bag, with whatever liquid is still in it since your last day out.
Rinse it out a few times before use next year and fill it adding a sterident tab, leave overnight, rinse it out again a few times and away you go
cleaning it on your way out skiing is far preferrable to cleaning it once you've stopped skiing
