Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skiing in Hawaii?

I'm off there in Late July/August for my summer holidays. Of course you can't ski there it's in the tropics isn't it. But perhaps you can http://www.skihawaii.com/ Looks pretty cool, trouble is I'm not currently planning a visit to Big Island.

Colin B, went to the Big Island a few years back in April. Sure enough there was snow adorning the upper reaches of two Maunas but not enticing enough to attempt to ski. I hear that people do ski there under their own steam (that means skinning up) but there are better things to do frankly. I plan to go back for more of the golf and all the hula stuff. By the way... you are guaranteed a lei Shocked

Bode Swiller, I'm spending 8 days in the brashness of Waikiki and another 8 days on Maui. Wasn't seriously thinking about skiing but I found this when looking if there were any shops there selling ski gear at US prices (even in the summer). I'm sure I won't be able to drag myself away from the beach, surf and hula dancers Very Happy Hoping to get a lei at the airport and at the luau wink

Colin B, Unless times have changed seriously, you'll be given a lei at your arrival island. Try out some surfing, but watch out for the rip tides. Additionally you may find you need some reef shoes for the water.
I spent a while on Kauai some years ago, and it was possible to get away from the tourist trail. I imagine it's just as easy to achieve on the larger islands.
