Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Insoles or a hammer and chisel?

When I had my xwave 9's many moons ago, I had some conformables knocked up. Everything ok.
Wizz forward two years.. Daughter messing about back steps hard onto foot.
i now suffer with a atleast 1/2 size larger left foot, plus.. the phalanges? are flat as hell and refuse to bend or flex like the right foot does. It started an ingrower too which every now and again surfaces back up.
Conformables are out as left foot is mucho uncomfortable with them in, so I cut my Superfeet greens down to a point where they stop after arch support. Comfy, but now forefoot support in either boot.

Any ideas? Is there a doodad to put under toe to make it flex or is there a company who speacialise in ultra thin forefoot cushioning?

NHS foot doc looked at it and we've treat the ingrower, but looks like I'm stuffed with the flat big toe.
Hammer and chisel?

Kids, eh, who'd have 'em? Still, going after her with a hammer and chisel seems a bit harsh, it was probably an accident.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

She'd hit me back. Our Laura's a right bruiser.
It was an accident, just that when she did it again it seamt to flatten the big toe right off and swell it up. Feel like a bloody mutant in sandals.
Shocked

johnDUB, best solution is probably a new footbed to support the foot in the position it now sits in, there are loads of ultra thin cushion materials out there poron, PPT spenco noene are all made in 1.2mm thickness [and thicker]

Dont get anything done until you have the ingrown sorted out, I had them on both big toes and since having them operated on my feet have changed as seen on the footbrds I have made myself at work. If you going to stick with your boots look at some stretching of the liner and shell and then with the foot bed look at having a post under the big toe to push it up in to a more flex position which would also give you a little more length on the toe. As for cushioned a decently dd stablised motion footbed would provide a post and good arch hold but also a good shock absorbing material under the toes.

interesting point? from the original post how can you tell that a forefoot varus post [ a medical correction] needs to be applied to the footbed, without the correct experience/qualifications the addition of such a post could be seen as stepping over the line between an accomodative footbed and a corrective orthotic

Ingrown sorted james. left foot as always been bigger, it's prob the fact that it lays flat now and won't flex.

Hi John, have you looked at the Sidas Conformable Race footbed, it is a thinner lower volume custom bed made to fit to low volume race boots like the Lange world cup and Nordica Doberman. I have had 2 ingrowers worked and had 1/2 nail bed killed off and have a broad forefoot but still use Conformable customs with posted DD blocks in Lange World Cups which with a couple of stretches are sweet.

Sounds good keith. do you have pics? It's more the flat big toe wanting more space. It does fit in ok.

Any pics of these set ups for me?
