Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

You are not your job

As a result of applying for a free dvd a couple of years ago I ended up on the Black Diamond mailing list. Unlike most junk mail this is something I look forward to receiving twice a year. I'm not that interested in the kit (especially skis!!) although it's nice to have a look at the new stuff but the catalogues have some mind blowing photographs and a couple of interesting articles in them.

"You are not your job" by Bill Ramsey was in the last one I received, although written by a climber about climbing it's something I think about fairly often with respect to both snowboarding and mountaineering and I'm sure many others on here have the same dreams from time to time. The article is available online at http://www.bdel.com/scene/word/2008_spring_climbing.php#job

He doesn't look 47 btw, possibly this is a consequence of his decision.

Swirly, yep, how can I work less and get paid more to do the stuff I enjoy the most Toofy Grin

Joking aside I would happily get paid less if it did give me more opportunity to do that.

I particulary liked this, "Meaning is not of life but in life. It’s in the various endeavors we pursue and relationships we develop that, if we are lucky, prove to be deeply gratifying. "

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Lizzard, as a young free bloke, I wish I had done that, now I need to convince the missus to be a chalet girl too wink

I think the lifestyle was discussed on another thread a while ago and the consensus seemed to find a job in a place like Geneva or go for your own business.
