Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

April resorts...

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
A mate of a mate wants to know where he'd be able to snowboard in the last half of April in Europe?

I know glacier resorts like ADH, Hintertux and Tignes are a good bet, but anyone know of surefire 'full' resorts that would have the majority of their runs open at this time of year?

Specialman, given the current conditions, anywhere in the Haute Tarentaise.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I would describe ADH and Tignes as "full" resorts! Not sure what you mean Specialman, do you have a requirement for a certain km of terrain to be open, or resort-runs, or what?

In Austria, Obertauern, Obergurgl and Ischgl spring to mind. There are definitely others, but they are the ones that I know tend to talk about 'skiing until the beginning of May' on their literature.

the ice perv, I mean resorts that aren't just the glacier, the 'full' number of runs being open.

The guy just wants somewhere he can board but won't be doing to same runs over and over that muc. He's been in Pas De La Casa last week and loved it but has some spare cash and some holidaytime to blow so wants to go somewhere else in Europe.

Deliaskis, cheers for that. Will let him know about those. Thought Austria might be a good bet.

Specialman, I'd have thought that most of Tignes / Val d'Isere and much of the Tarentiase resorts will still be as near fully open as matters

Espace Killy (ie Tignes and Val D'Isere) are open into May.

In a "normal" season over half the lifts and runs will be open in the first week of May - but this is no normal season......I would think that even more will be open than that given the current amount of snow.

Nearly all, if not completely all, of the area will still be open in 2 weeks time - ie the last half of April as per your request.

There will also be loads of other high ski areas that are all still more or less fully open eg Les Arcs, La Plagne, the 3 Vallees, Zermatt, Cervinia, St Anton, Lech, Zurs, Obergurgl, Obertauern, Chamonix, Courmayeur, Verbier.....and most if not all of the Scottish resorts. Don't laugh, just click here, then click on the photos:
