Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just back home after a fantastic week in the French resort of Megeve with Simon Butler Skiing. Heard of you guys while over there so thought I'd drop in! Cool

Terrific skiing conditions all week on nearly all runs - thanks to a huge dump of snow last Friday the night before we arrived. Couldn't have timed it better. Megeve village is chocolate-box pretty and the area boasts miles of runs - but it seemed monstrously expensive this year! Shocked

Can't give you any comparisons to other resorts, as it's the only place I've ever visited!

Anyway, this is just a quick hello and I look forward to joining in the threads.

I've always had the impression there are not many places more expensive than megeve

Megeve has some of the most expensive restaurants in France. But you don't have to eat there. If you are on an all-in chalet holiday, you really wouldn't have to spend a lot more money if you didn't want to. I doubt whether a beer and a plate of chips is any more expensive than in, say, Courchevel.
