Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Salomon Ellipse 8.0 Boots - new "Walk/Ski" spring: Where from?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Can anyone advise where I can obtain a spare bit for a Salomon boot? Confused

I have a pair of Salomon Ellipse 8.0 Boots and on my recent skiing trip to AdH the "Walk/Ski" switch on the rear of one boot stopped locking in either position - just flopped about. So the boot was not locking in the "ski" position. Sad As my style/skill is so c**p it didn't seem to take away too much of my stylish performance on-piste. Just somewhat fewer admiring glances than usual as I swooshed past. wink Toofy Grin

I have just taken apart the boots (easy!) expecting to find a broken spring of some sort and discovered that the flat metal spring was completely missing! Shocked How? It's buried inside the boot shell and shouldn't be able to escape.

Anyway I've tried to find a contact for Salomon spares but so far without success. Obviously this is a little out of the run-of-the mill.

Help!! Thanks.

How about buying a knackered pair off fleabay for a few quid & stripping out the part you need.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

My missus lost a clip on her Rossis. I contacted the UK distributors for Rossignol. They sent me a used pair of the same boots and I nicked the clip of them and kept them for spares.
I tried the same with Atomic as our eldest pulled the strap off of his boots and lost it, they weren't so helpful.

I've got the same boots, got mine from Ellis Brighams in March 2006.

You could try popping into EB's if you've one near and asking their bootfitters if they can help - also, where did you get the boots ? might be worth contacting your supplier who again may be able to help.

Good Luck in your search !

Thanks, everyone for your ideas. Laughing

Does anybody have a contact number for Salomon in the UK - or in France come to that? Puzzled

Thanks, Simon.

A long time to wait for a reply but it's the first time I've come back to this post since last season! Embarassed

I telephoned Salomon today and 'Kevin' very helpfully is scavenging a spring from a gash boot and popping it the post to me. Very Happy And at no charge, so easy and quick.

Tally Ho!
