Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Bra boss pays for injured snowboarder to fly home

Michelle Mone, boss of the designer lingerie company Ultimo, has donated £8,000 to fly home a Scots snowboarder who is stranded in France after a serious accident. Corrine Barrons, 33, from Kilsyth, was left in a coma after hitting her head while snowboarding in Meribel 2 weeks ago. Because she wasn’t fully insured, she was stranded in France after the accident. ...So, earlier this week, her relatives launched an appeal for the money to bring her home. Charter flight firm Mediavation offered to fly Corrine by air ambulance from Grenoble to Glasgow's Southern General Hospital's specialist head injury unit for the discount price of £8,000 after an appeal from the family. However, this was still more than they could afford.

Corrine, who had been working in France during the ski season, now faces up to a year of rehab to overcome bleeding on the brain. It's understood she was put in a chemically-induced coma following the accident and is now conscious.

Gald she's coming home. Wonder why she did not insure herself properly in the first place - or maybe there was something odd in the small print?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Serious question - was she wearing a helmet, and if not, would it have helped? (yes serious question, honest... Embarassed)

achilles, if she was a seasonaire theres a good chance that she wouldn't have had repatriation cover, often they get medical cover but not transport back to their own country, something worth bearing in mind for those planning to do a season I guess
