singer, hitch a ride? Catch the early morning bus to the dam? I don't think there are any direct public transport options.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Hitch a ride back with the 'excursion coach' that go from L2A to S C. Phone the tourist office in L2A to find out time and day. From memory, my day trip to S C from L2A was Wednesday but that was 2 years ago.

As I remember, there are two buses a day (Briancon - Grenoble service), afternoon one leaves Briancon at about 16:00. Get off at the dam then either wait for a bus up the hill or hitch. Hitching will be quicker.

I'm sure there is a bus service...we had a day trip to Ser Che and Alp d huez from les deux. It's not that far. There will be a private one if not public.

andyjc, there is no direct bus service. You have to change either at the dam or in Bourg d'Oisans. The day trip buses from ADH and LDA to Serre Chevalier are private transfers organised by the TO reps.

singer, Hitching is the best bet - isn't normally a problem in the mountains. If you have skis and boots and don't look like a hooligan or a terrorist it shouldn't be a problem.
