Alot of shops sell gear cheaper than S&R, and thats at there full price while S&R are in the sale!

They have a good selection of North Face, Berghaus and Arcteryx mountain gear. Oh well doesn't matter, hope you get some decent bargains!

Liam, sorry if I was a bit short. When I made the post I was thinking primarily equipment as my wife was stood at the checkout about to splash £220 on some new (ski) boots when she found out they would be reduced by 20% in a couple of days. Didn't want anyone to make a similar mistake.

masmith, Did they not give you the 20% off at the time. If not buy boots, keep receipt, take boots back for cash refund and rebuy same boots for 20% reduction. It is that kind of customer service that can leave a bad taste in ones mouth!

My wife was stood at the checkout waiting to pay at full price (after having spent 4 hours over 2 days being fitted) when she enquired about another product, at which point a salesperson said they would check to see if that (other) product would be in the sale which starts Friday. My wife then asked if the boots would be in the sale and was told yes they would with 20% off. Disappointing that this information wasn't volunteered. So she left the shop without them and collected them yesterday, apparently their 'system' would allow the sale prices to come into effect then, £44 better off !

If its anything like the Ellis Brigham sale, I dragged myself to in Manchester city centre last Saturday I wouldn't bother.
£50 of a £400 jacket, the email lead me to believe 50% off, when I read it closer I noticed the "up to" in small print. I did not see anything anywhere near half price. However the pre season sale they had in Nov was well worth a visit, my son bought some brand new K2 Public Enemy with Marker bindings for less than £200.

Just got my little lads new jacket for next year from S&R in Hemel a nice Burton 50% off and 'cos i'm a member an extra 10% £39.98 for a £100 jacket. I don't think thats a bad deal, even if you don't like them

Columbia first descent jacket. £250 in EB now in the sale at £179. S&R only £125 + £6 P&P. EB dont price match so dont get the business.
