Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Good luck with your hunting, I was trying to do something similar but as I'm sure you've found out there seems to be very little inc flights leaving from London.*

There seemed to be quite a lot based on websites searches, but phoning them up seemed to result in the truth being that nothing was actually available. According to one of the people I was talking too, because of the great start to the season deals have been snapped up much sooner than normal, that might have just been their excuse though...

In the end I've ended up booking flights myself & arranging a chalet out there.

The other option I guess would be to travel to Manchester, where there seemed to be a few deals still around when I checked on Sunday.

*although it could be I was just looking in the wrong places

Good luck! snowHead

clareholyoak, you'd be best looking on all the TO sites, iglu, ifyouski, etc. If you google you'll find lots. I don't think you're very likely to find a package on snowheads, though there are some apartment owners and people who run chalets.

Last time I looked there was very little available for this weekend, but more for next weekend.

At the moment, the snow is not really "good" anywhere, and has been downright nasty in a few places. However, it's snowing around the place now, and a fairly snowy week with lots of weather, next week. If you like skiing under blue skies, next week doesn't look too promising, but there could be some powder around.

You could probably find something if you do a DIY trip. Get yourself a flight to somewhere like Geneva on Saturday, and hire a car. Local tourist offices could probably find some empty accommodation, though they wouldn't deal with UK based catered chalets. In France, next week is the first after the big, crowded, French school holidays so lots of childless people will be going then. But there will definitely be some empty bedrooms around and if you are looking for a Sat/Sat booking you could well be in luck.

You might also find that some chalets have beds, but not flights - contact the big chalet companies.

Good luck. snowHead

I asked this last week when I was in pretty much the same situation, I just need Scottish or Northern English flights.

None of the chalet co's (Ski Olympic, Silverski, Skiworld, Neilson) have any availability. Some of the big Crystal clubhotels (Viking in Morzine, Totem in Flaine) are showing up but I've not had the time to phone up and see if they really are.

At the moment we're looking at an overnight drive, a £50 speedferries channel crossing and an apartment booked through Interhome.

Unless any snowHead chalet owners have a room needing filled?

Will leave Sun morning(9th) and stopover en route arriving in resort mon at 11am ish leaving sat after skiing getting back to uk lunch time Sunday.

1 share of the costs is a mere £110 bargain!!!! for travel and accomodation (bunk bed in 1 bed flat), plus stop over on way there and back in Formule 1 at 31 erous per night for a room that can sleep 2

If no-one joins us I will have to spend whole week talking to Mr Cherrub and we have run out of conversation after 10 yrs together Laughing Laughing
