Does this sound reasonable for a ski skills course including one day of touring? Thought it might be a bit pricey?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This could be the next stage in your progression, continuing on from the foundations laid in TNTT. Taking you onto steeper slopes, concentrating on skiing in control and building your confidence, Yves will spend some time on mountain safety. There is the possibility of a day’s ski touring on the last day.
Duration: 4 days in Chamonix with Gilbert Matillat.
Suitability: Strong parallel skier, with off piste experience. Ideally you will have done a TNTT course provisionally. These 4 days of skiing take you onto the steeper slopes and more varied terrain as well as introducing you to ski touring.
Accommodation: Standard.
Price: £639 per person
Included: Return shared airport transfers, 2* hotel accommodation, 4 nights B&B (twin room basis), course fee and in resort service. 3* and 4* accommodation available with supplements. Flights additional. Group size 4-6, 3 with a supplement
Flights are additional

maybe a bit pricey - as a comparison, skierslodge in La Grave is about EUR1000 for 6 days but that doesn't include pickup from the airport but does include half board

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

GordonFreeman, you'd expect to pay a fair bit for whole days with a guide, in a small group. Sounds great though - not that I am anything like a strong enough skier to benefit. If I was looking at this sort of money I think I'd like to be going for a week, to have a few extra days to practice the skills I'd been learning.
Lift pass will be additional too, presumably. And lunches and dinners. And a supplement if you are going alone, no doubt. So yes, a fairly expensive weekend!
Are there no whole-week courses you can find?

Plenty of whole week courses, I just can't spare the time sadly! Although if I'm doing 4 days I guess I may as well do 5
There aren't that many 4 days skills courses though. A 2 day course might be appropriate somewhere...

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

GordonFreeman, looking at that sort of money, you could probably tailor-make something. But if you have to travel on a Thursday and a Tuesday, to do a 4 day Friday - Monday course, it's only one more day off to take a week! Go on, be a devil. Though you could probably get cheaper flights mid-week, which is a consideration.

I think it's travel back Monday night late but I see your point.
Maybe I'd be better off doing a 2 day off piste skills with someone like Powder Exterem in Verbier and then trying out touring for 1 day. Problem is that it's difficult to get on group tours sometimes as there has to be a spare place somewhere and the group be happy with someone else joining.
