I was just released from a federal prison here in New York and want to get back into skiing. Any suggestions on places in upstate?

Roger welcome to  Think Lake Placid id the nearest place to NY they did have the olympics there in the 80's so it cant be all bad. Happy skiing

My sister lives near Troy and Albany and has fun skiing at Jiminy Peak.

It's run by the state, not the fed. So I don't know if your previous stay at the federal facility qualifies you for discont or not.

Gore is better.
Look a bit further west and you'll find a lot of guys from Penn State ski there. I know Penn State is not quite the same as State Pen but there might be some discounts and you can always plead dyslexia in mitigation.
