Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Val Thorens - Some Info Needed!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hey guys/gals

Going on my first Ski/Snowboard trip to Val Thorens on March 29th. Very Xciting! Just wondering if any of you experienced skiers/snowboarding had any helpful ideas like where the best place to rent boards (cheapest and good quality) .. Where is the best place to party?! .. Any advice on where to start snowboarding when we get there..? Are lessons worth it e.g. good instructors? or any other info that me and my friends who are total noobs to this experience might find useful!

Keep up the good work with the forum!

Thanks Peeps!

Paul

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I think lessons are always a good idea when you're starting out.
It's not just how to steer a board but little tricks and tips about being on the mountain that make it worthwhile.
If there's a few of you all starting out together, that's all the better: rather than joining scheduled groups, get an instructor privately just for your group.
It's often worth booking an instructor in advance as the best ones often get booked by request before the week begins.

We always use Prosneige Ski School when we're in Val Thorens. They came highly recommended in the first place and they've always done an excellent job for us.
