Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Well, I'm officially "cool". Shocked

This may come as a surprise to those of you who have met me. It certainly comes as a surprise to me. MrsPhillipStanton is both amused and flabbergasted.

But, the fact remains, that on Monday afternoon - for the first time in my skiing career - I had people pointing at me and saying "COOL". Shocked Not just one or two, but 20-25 times people used the term whilst pointing at me.

The source of my coolness?

My fine telemark technique? I think not.

My fine physique? LaughingLaughingLaughingLaughing

My cool clothing? rolling eyes

Nope.

A pair of brand, spanky new Icelantic Nomads mounted with telemark bindings. My combination of "telemark cool" and "cool graphics" simply overwhelmed them. :cool:

Do yourself a favour.

Sod the technique and buy some skis with amazing graphics. Then pretend that it's you, not the skis wink

I bet you could get a helmet painted to match the nomads - the art work on them is fab. I bet the pictures could be airbrushed onto a helmet or even a jacket back
