Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Salomon Binding question

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Anyone know if new salomon wide brakes will work with some old salomon 997 equipe bindings i have kicking around? don't think bending the brakes that come with them is too hard but just in case it is beyond me or the relevant ski tech...

Arno, doubtful. I don't have any salomon manuals going back to 997 days to check. Any chance of showing a pic of the existing brakes?

Wear The Fox Hat, i'll take some this evening if I remember. from what I read, the 997 heel piece is pretty much the same as you get on 916s but of course "pretty much" isn't exactly the same

Arno, "pretty much" + a 2lb hammer = "the same" Wink

Arno, I have just tried putting S916 brakes onto a pair of S997E bindings and they fit fine.

fatbob, nope - just had a bit of a problem with a remount on the DPS so I am thinking about slapping some 997s (£5 on ebay - bargain!) on them in the hope that their hole pattern will fit around the general swiss cheese situation on them
