Poster: A snowHead

Latest addition to the 'Milky Way' lift network that spans Italy and France is a gondola linking Cesano and Sansicario. This replaces two chairlifts, significantly speeding up this part of the route...
The entire 400km circuit connects Montgenevre in France to Sestriere and Sauze d'Oulx in Italy via Claviere, Cesana and Sanscario. Several of these resorts are key venues for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics.
The lift climbs from 1361m to 1716m and includes a mid station at Pariol at 1550m.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Dan, you've got my vote on that one! ...and when on earth are they going to replace that dreadful double two going up from behind the White Bear? The gondola is welcome though.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Cool. Anyone know where a decent piste map for the Milky Web can be found online. Trying to find one to work out what changes have been made since my last trip in '02 as I'm heading back there end of Feb (the one on the vialattea site seems tiny and doesn't want to expand on clicking it).

Dan, agree with you on the dog leg and with homphomp about the twin chairs of the Rocco Nere (my personal gripe) - I was told last season that they would be replaced with a new high-speed 4-man for this season but they haven't been.
Also up for replacement is the Clotes lift (which has been there since 1971!) but they are having trouble with the Greens, apparently. I'm told that the replacement is due to go much higher up the mountain so that it would be possible to ski from it to Sportinia . I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
