Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Crystal/Thomson

Just back from week in Soll with Thomson. Had booked with them as they had the best flights for our needs but had read so many awful reports I was expecting hassle. It was fine - flights, transfers, reps - all fine, can't fault the service and we went out with the Crystal reps for 3 days of 'ski leading' (guiding) - not something we'd used before and it was excellent - great way to get to know a new ski area as we are not vastly experienced and a great 'free' service. I know there are horror stories out there about TOs but for us it was smooth and I nearly didnt book having read the bad stuff so pleased we went for it.

I'm just back from a week in Westendorf, skiing down to Brixen is very heavy slush but certainly skiable.

Don't know about Soll though.

The week started fine but by the end a lot of the lower runs were really churned and slushy by midday. It could really do with some new snow and didnt see the snow cannons going at all (too warm?). Having said that we skied all over to Going, Ellmau, Scheffau, Itter, Hopgarten, Brixen and over to Westerndorf and most higher runs were fine - and yes you can ski back down the red into Soll (to the very bottom gondola station). Just ice and slush and green fields in village though.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

red27 - yes fantastic ski area - met people there who go every year and still don't tire of it - think we will return again in a few years as so many other places to try but can see the appeal - such a variety of runs - certainly get your money's worth out of the ski pass and relaxed atmosphere everywhere, real friendly places

I remember it as a relaxed friendly area, with (certainly at the time) the best mountain restaurants I had been in. A while back, though.

I think yours is the experience of the large majority Smile

The problem is that most people who have good experences don't bother to say anything (and after all, they are only getting what they should be getting, so why should they bother?), while a much higer proportion of those who have problems will complain about it, so if you just look at public comments, it can look like there are nothing but complaints about a particular company, just because they are large, so even a very small proportion leads to a large number of complaints.

This is generally true in most fields, not just Tour Operators, of course..
