Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

First Ski Trip

Further to my original post - http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=33881

As promised here is my update...

Whistler was amazing, had a 3 hour lesson and spent the rest of the week off with mates mainly on green runs but the odd blue.

I was really pleased I choose to skiing instead of snowboard, although I still plan to try snowboarding some point this year.

The good skiers certainly were on a different planet to what little skill I have so far, the speed they travel is bonkers but that really excites me as their is some much to learn. Also the effortless way they move is simply stunning, I probably do look like a really newbie but I honestly still don't care - over 3 days of skiing the difference in what I could tackle was quite good IMO - even managed to ski up banks and the odd little jump - crashed a fair bit but all fun, especially when I didn't crash.

Now for a week at Crabbe - certainly a very different location but now I will get some regular lessons to remove any bad habits I might have picked up.

Anyway I am hooked, snow sports are the way forward for me - board or ski's I don't care - spoke to lots of nice people doing both - and I certainly looked like the first timer rental boy - it should never matter we all have to start somewhere.

Only thing I didn't like was the comfort of hire boots, so have bought myself some in CA - looking forward to trying them out Happy

So here is to another week of skiing and thanks to all of those who posted before - to a certain extent ALL the posts carried some relevance whether positive or negative in their comments.

Crabbe is a little place near Fredericton in NB - http://www.crabbemountain.com, not a resort but it has plenty of snow, I have free accom and the price of lessons and hire is very cheap.

My friends love it there - nothing to blow your mind like Whistler but hey skiing is skiing at the moment to me.

Oh and pam_w I am addicted! Never realized you were in Chi, I live 15 mins - small world!
