Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Shin Injury

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
First day in Madonna in January I managed to scrape a patch of skin off my shin, which whilst a bit sore and bloody seemed fine with a plaster stuck over it.
Obviously this is perhaps not the best place to scrape when skiing but all seemed fine until the end of the week when I took my boot off and was faced with a bloodied sock and boot.
Closer examination revealed that I had managed to make a nice little divot in my shin and as I am off to Whistler in a couple of weeks I decided to forgo the last days skiing rather than risk it not healing before Canada.
This is healing pretty well now but I am worried about the possibility of damaging it again in Whistler and was wondering if any other Snowheads had suffered a similar misfortune and had any tips as to the best way to keep pressure off this area without compromising my skiing to much (although anyone who has seen me ski would probably suggest that my skiing is pretty compromised already).
Thanks.

Perhaps shave the hair off around the tender area, and use a Compeed Pad or similar to spread the pressure.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Well here's mine from a few weeks ago in morzine .... but i'm afraid it was not a skiing injury ... more a bum boarding whilst drunk injury. Toofy Grin

If anyone has seen national lampoons chrismas vacation and can remember the teflon coated bum boarding in that i had a similar incident at the top of the pleney rolling eyes
