Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Fault Fischer Skis?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have a pair of RX9's great skis with two years worth of skiing four trips. However the plastic top is coming away from the main ski, it has water collecting in it. Coincidentally a friend I was skiing with two weeks ago has a new pair of RX 8’s and the same thing has happened to his admittedly he had cut into the side following a fall but it looks as though this may be a problem with the hard top layer. Has anyone had similar problems and should I seek advice from Fischer?

murf, take them back to the shop you got them from, let them take a look. It's hard to say without seeing a pic of them.

murf, Did you read the above previous topic and the links in there to the same topic on Epic? It all seemed to sum it up as a known problem and the only options are take them back to where you brought them if possible might be worth printing off Epic posts to re-reinforce it is a known problem. If you can not do this a DIY repair with epoxy and clamps is the other option.

Just back from a one week trip to Meribel, one of my Fischer RX-6 skis has the same problem, photos here:-

Skis are about 4 years old, used for one week a year, I don't have original receipt.

How did you resolve the problem please?

Cheers,
Bernie

bernieraffe, my rx8's did the same thing, fischer gave me a new pair via a french shop who contacted them for me, but they were that seasons skis, not sure what they would do with a ski 4 years old.

Thanks for your replies. I've sent a message, with photos, to Fischer via their website.

I'll post back here if I get a result.
