Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

looks like we may have the money to get a cheapy deal for this year after all, however not sure which is the best way to go about it? I'm aware for many schools it is classed as easter hols but as its late in the season I'm hoping we can get something last minute.

Planning on booking it in the week before we are due to go and don't know wether to look for a package with on of the TO's or scour the cheap airline websites for a cheap flight and then look for someone who has availability left in an aparmtnet, i presume you can book car hire at the very last minute.

also which resorts are easily accesible from which airports. i know i can get to geneva and grenoble with flyglobespan which is handy for us up north, but would be prepared to travel to a different airport to get flights if need be. Think i would prefer one of the higher altitude frnech resorts if possible

thanks

Chambery is an excellent airport for many French resorts in the Tarantaise/Savoie reigon eg les arcs, Tignes/Val, 3 Vallees. If you want a high French resort this is prob best bet. Then Geneva or possibly Lyon or Grenoble are all viable alternates.

Geneva is prob the best airport for the Swiss resorts on the west side of Switzerland and Haute Savoie resorts eg chamonix, la clusaz, morzine, Flaine and so on

Turin for Italian resorts in the Italian alps and serre Chevalier in France and some of the French resorts in the Maurinee valley -not sure whether best airport for Dolomites (Venice prob better for Dolomites)

Innsbruck is ideal for Austrian Resorts in the Tyrol

this is a pretty general response but hope it helps

charlichops, I would think the cheapest way would be to wait until the last minute and get a tour op deal. Flights and car hire will be cheapest the earlier you book them but will never be all that cheap. We always used to be able to get late deals for Easter and your date is well past the Easter weekend so I think there will be loads of offers.
