Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)
Remember me:
👁 durr, I forgot...
Or: Register
(to be a proper snow-head, all official-like!)

First of all I'd like to say hi as this is my first post. Been skiing for about 9 years and did 7 months race training so have improved pretty fast and can tackle most thats thrown at me.

Anyway having bored you with my life story lets get down to it.

My dad has said now that my feet have stopped growing (I'm 17) we are going to look into getting me some boots, and some good ones at that. Either race ones or one step down from that.

Anybody have any advice as make makes and models that are good. or some to avoid.
I know at the end of the day it is down to personal feel but any pointers?

Thanks in advance all.

WalkAbout, welcome to snowHeads.

Go to a decent bootfitters, tell them what sort of skiing you do, and then take the boots that they give you. Very Happy

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I would suggest you post an enquiry about this in the equipment section, where some bootfitters lurk. The general rule seems to be that, unless you are sponsored by a manufacturer, the right make is the one which fits. If you are continuing to race you will probably be looking for a stiffer boot and flex than most of us recreational skiers. If you live in Shropshire - some one is probably about to recommend a trip to Bicester or Leamington Spa to you...

Good Luck
