Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Getting back into skiing after injury - advice please!

I ruptured my ACL skiing last year (level 3, so complele tear) Sad , I've skied for years and never done any serious damage before so it came as a real shock. Thankfully I had a great consultant and had my knee fixed within weeks; I've been back at the gym, swimming and cycling since 3 months post op and it's been a textbook recovery so far (touch wood). The only thing is, I'm really surprised about how long is it taking to build up all of the lost muscle and get back to my original fitness, which I'm finding quite frustrating.

Also and more worryingly, I LOVE skiing but the longer it is before I ski again, the more the fear about skiing grows. I can't believe I'm being such a wuss! It's now 5 months since the op and I've been told not to ski until 9 months post op, other people have advised me to not ski without a knee brace in future, others have told me I'll be ok after 6 months.......I don't know what to think!

If anyone else has been in a similar situation or can offer any advice from experience I would be really, really grateful!

Thank you!
