which is the best place to hire your skis from and is it easy to leave the skis at the bottom of the gondolas in lock ups or is it a hassle? thanks for your replys

Don't know about "best" place, but tried some skis for one day from the Intersport near the Pardatschgrat - they were almost new and in perfect condition. We left our skis in a locker at the bottom of the Fimbabahn - 2 euro a go, but we could fit 4 pairs in so it was good value. There is also an attended ski depot under the Pardatschgratbahn, but if there are a group of you it's much more expensive. There is also ski storage up at Idalp and lockers at the top of the Pardatschgratbahn.

We took our own skis, but a couple of us wanted to try something different for a day so just went into the most convenient place. From observations of the rental skis that others had on the gondolas etc they all looked pretty good - no old tat to be seen anywhere!

Our rep was saying both the Intersport shops only stock new quality gear so the 2 from our group who needed ski's went there and seemed pretty happy with them. We all decided to try boarding one day though and just went to the one nearest our hotel (Seiblishof), i think it was just called 'Ischgl Hire Shop' and ended up what seemed like brand new boards.
