Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

What Punisher for me?

Hi Guys,

I am currently looking at getting the Scott Punisher in either the 162 or the 172.

I'm 170cm ish tall and weigh in at approx 78kg Embarassed

I'm an advaced skiier, ski anything, ski anywhere ( maybe not hucking cliffs YET) and would like the ski to be a good all mountain ski with the feature of being able to ride the park for a day or two, but then riding big mountain freshies. Although not forgetting doing a day or so carving the piste.

So in a sentence an all round twin tip suited for the park, powder and piste.

So what lenght should i go for?

And if any of you guys can recommend out else then please do so!

Cheers in advance snowHead

I'd go for the 172, just because of the surface area of the base lost be the fact that they're twin tips. Maybe not so easy in the park, but miles better in the soft stuff.

Spyderman, Yeah thats what i was thinking, how much harder would a rotation in the park be?

Liam, It's only 5cm at each end in the park, but the extra length will be really worth it everywhere else.
It's worth checking how Scott measure the Punishers to see if they make allowances for the twin tip in their measurements, but I'd say that a total length of head height would be about right, seeing as what you want to do with them. I'm just thinking of the length you'd want to ski a Mission, considering it's the same ski just with a twin tip. So Mission at about your nose height plus the extra for the twin tip, if that makes sense.

Liam, for someone your ability and size, I think you should be looking at the 182.

Spyderman, Thanks for that, have tried a quick search for the dimensions, but dont seem to be able to find anything. I visited EB yesterday and stood them next to me and they are pretty much the same height, therefore if i deduct the tips the surface area will probably be par with my nose height, i reckon the 172 is probably my best bet.

chris, I did look at the 182, which would be awesome for the big mountain stuff, but i reckon i'll be limited on the piste and in the park.

Thanks for the advice guys.
