Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

ski size?

i know that ski's should be chin/nose level but is that with or without boots? I am 5'2" and weigh 91/2 stone (hoping to lose another half) and am probably an improving beginner. Basically i can mange greens and blues for the most part, can manage to paralell turn on steadier runs but tend to lose the plot a bit if it gets a bit icy or steep. At the moment my cheapo old ski's are a 150 and i do feel as though they are a bit long, but it doesn't help they are not really carvers and are a bit floppy. looking at getting some K2 tru loves and was wondering if i should be going for the 146 or the 153. I'm hoping to maybe be able to trial some skis at EB at braehead but if all else fails??????

Shorter skis are easier to turn, so easier to learn on. I think you'll find the K2s are sized a little differently. I skied on the 153cm Burnin Luvs and I'm 5'6" and a similar weight to you. If I were you, I'd go for the 146cm.
