Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Early morning check-in on 1st of Feb for flight to GVA. The previous day I have a job to do on Isle of Man and have booked the last flight home at around 6:30pm. I feel, in hinidsight, that I'm tempting Sod's Law to jump up and bite me on the bum with a cancelled flight. Toofy Grin

If you do get stuck on the island, there's a flight direct from IoM to GVA on the second... if so, I'll see you there.

I thought I was alone on snowHead

I'm going next week via Gatwick to Grenoble all in price £160. A lot cheaper than Flybe (but with added hassle)

halfhand, I'm sure you will be OK. It's pretty rare that flights to LPL are cancelled and the long range forecast is for similar weather to now.

Michael B,You're probably right. I visit the island 2 or 3 times a year for work. I remember once being delayed for 1.5 hrs leaving LPL , circling the Isle of man for another 40mins and then returning to LPL because couldn't land. Oh how we laughed.

Just an update.

I'm now anxiously waiting at Isle of Man airport fully expecting my flight to Liverpool due off at 18:25 to be cancelled. If I was a nail biter they'd be bitten to the quick by now.

If unlucky enuff to get cancelled:

Plan B - transfer to Manchester for 18:40 flight
Plan C - flight to Gatwick at 06:30 tomorrow morning
Plan D - Empress hotel Douglas and get blasted

Michael B, I'm a humble medical physicist and will be trying to assess the performance of a computed radiography system. Laundering pixels you might say Very Happy

After all the worry, I made it to Courmayeur. Had a fantastic time skiing in Courmayeur, La Thuile and in to France (couldn't get all the way down to La Rosiere though due to high winds and poor vis closing some lifts and pistes). Glorious weather and a huge dump of snow on Friday night. V. Happy snowHead
