And another 6 out of 12 in Sunshine.
LL has 35cm snow at base with temps between -1 to -10.
Why is only 1 lift operating and will be there on 30/11/04. Surely they will have that place fully running by then especially with World Cup etc?
Anyway I am off work for over 3 weeks from 5pm this evening so wil have plenty of time to keep updated

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

If it's the main chair from the Day Lodge it gives access to a lot of skiing. They're probably operating just one because there are hardly any customers at the moment.

Sunshine village gets a lot more snow than Lake Louise. Some years, they've run the WC downhill and Super-G races down a single strip of man-made. Other years (like last year) they had a lot of early snow.
Look on the bright side: You can always catch the bus to Sunshine.
You pays your money and you takes your choice....

Hmmm, the bus (Lake Louise - Sunshine) isn't a daily service anymore, as we found out last year.

It seems to be running now; look at
http://www.skilouise.com/gettingHere/lakelouise_skibus.asp
It's worth hiring a car, 'though, to avoid waiting for buses and to visit a few other places (if the nearby resorts are open this early).

richmond, no that's the bus from Banff to Lake Louise ski area. What I was refering to was the bus from Lake Louise hotels to Sunshine.
Last year the website and bus stops said it was a daily service when it wasn't. We complained and they promptly updated the signs & the website! It runs Monday, Wednesday & Friday only. See this - http://www.skibig3.com/onmountain/louiseshuttles.html . Service Lake Louise to Norquay only 2 days per week.

If I was booking a trip from Europe to North America I would never do it this early in the season. You can't count on good conditions every year. Last year was great but some years there is no snow til late December.
I hope they get dumped on up there before you arrive, good luck and good turns!
