Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

What’s happening with SnOasis?

The fate of the £300million SnOasis resort proposed for Great Blakenham in Suffolk still lies in the hands of the government. Despite months of careful analysis by top-ranking experts, a decision about the development has still not been reached. The government confirmed last Friday that no decision had been made and would not shed any light on when the situation be resolved....

Previously, the Planning Inspectorate had indicated a decision would be made public on or before January 31st. However, a spokesman for the Department for Communities and Local Government, whose minister Hazel Blears will make the final decision over SnOasis, could not confirm if that deadline still stood.

The final decision on whether to approve SnOasis has been further delayed after the government has asked for more information from the developers.

Hazel Blears wants to know more about the scheme's green credentials before she decides on whether to give the go-ahead.

I do question the construction costs in the UK or which companies quote for these Ski Centres? £300 sounds way, way, way over the top like 10 times over the top !

The Indoor Ski centres in Holland are built at a fraction of that price.

Anyway, while the arguing & foot dragging continues over planning in the UK, here in Holland Snowworld Zoetermeer are to build a 4th piste 330-350 Metres long and 55Metres high with a restaurant at the top.

The complex will cost thirteen millions euro, of which ten million for the Ski Piste.

Snowworld hope to realise the project in 2009 after the enviromental impact studies have been completed this year.

After completion SnowWorld Zoetermeer will be, once again, the largest indoor ski area in the world
