Poster: A snowHead

For the few of us interested in that part of the world, my woman on the ground (my mum) reports "2 feet" of snowfall in parts up around Font Romeu. She is prone to exagerration, so I'll just go and check something more reliable. I think we can take it there is some settled snow though.

This is just the worst time of year. Reports of the snow falling, resorts opening and general excitement. Outside my window is grey London. I need to book a trip now!

Will, the thing to do is find the appropriate webcam and stare at it very hard until you go ski=ing. www.snoweye.com is a good place to find snowy webcams. Resorts can be a bit cautious in making their webcam's live at this point in the season, i.e. before it has started snowing properly.

some updated information: http://www.pistehors.com/comments/366_0_1_0_C/
My Pyrénées stringer tested the off-piste. The snow is very hard at altitude with the recent winds and crusty lower down with a freeze-crust. Some powder to be found between the trees where it has been sheltered from the ravages of wind and sun. Good conditions on piste though.
