Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Rossi B83 length advice

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all,

I'm looking to hire some skis for some lift/skin offpiste and have been offered the following by a hire shop :

Rossignol B83 168cm

Now I know times have changed etc etc, but I wonder if these are long enough. I'm 6ft tall and 11 1/2 stone and will only have a light pack (5kg max) - will I sink like a stone in the pow ? will they float OK ? or will I be better with the next length up (176cm) which is the way my thoughts are going.

Any well meaning advice accepted ....

unless you will be doing a lot of uphill and therefore want to save weight, 168cm sounds far too short IMO

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks guys, you confirmed my feelings - I feel more comfortable emailing my request back now. To be fair, although I specified approx length to them in an email (I suggested 175 - 180), I didn't tell them my height and weight. Hope they've got something longer.

Certainly not looking to save weight - I'm not expecting to skin for more than a couple of hours at a go max.
