Just got a cheap deal for Half Board at Hotel Bulgaria in Bansko. Anyone been to this hotel?
Never been to Bulgaria before so any advice, or comments please?
We have been to Austria and Italy boarding but this was so much cheaper, and I am on a small budget this year! So we thought we would give it ago beacause the snow cover is great at the moment.
Cheers

There is a lot of building work still going on but the skiing (although limited compared to the western resorts) is very good. All modern lifts and great little and very cheap resturants in town.
Had my stag do there (no its not ibiza in the snow, that's Meribel ) and had one of the best ski holidays I've ever had.
If you want to go for hard core skiing, with eating in self catering and no drinking, resorts in Western Europe are just as cheap and in some cases cheaper. If you are a group and want to eat out and partake in some beverages or have a family, Bansko is great as the apre ski is so cheap.
End of the day as long as you're skiing thats all that matters and as you say, the snow cover there is fantastic at the moment.

Don't get yourself injured though, I wouldn't want to test out their health care infrastructure

My daughter was unfortunate enough to get a head injury in Bansko and the rescue and treatment was exceptional. Far swifter than you would receive even after reaching the A & E department in the UK.

Saka01, Welcome to 's. There will be many on in a short while that know Bansko. But I believe that you get good value everywhere in the resort. Have fun.

You know it makes sense.

Being a seasoned 2nd timer, ski rental wouldn't bother me now. I went to a tiny resort last year, and we had a choice of three rental places.
Why not ask your hotel receptionist for a recommendation (perhaps for somewhere with a discount for hotel residents) I doubt you'll go far wrong.
