Poster: A snowHead
|
Hello - still working hard to get my group of 6 adults, 3 children and a baby in a nice, catered but afforable chalet! We're not stuck on dates but had the 8th of March in mind for France because it's the week after half-term in France. Now I've found a rare deal, a chalet very close to the centre, catered, ticks all the boxes and is affordable but it's the week of the 1st of March. Bearing in mind we have 2 beginners and all the kids, are we going to end up frustrated on swamped slopes??? If so, are there any weeks in February that would be better?
Thanks,
Mirjam

Februrary in general are the busiest weeks of the year, the four French zones take a week each. Look at Austria in February maybe one of our 's with properties in Austria can help!!
Good luck!

Mirjam, you should be fine in the first week in March. It is the last week of the French holidays but at least the place won't be completely swamped by Brits. I went there in Feb half term 2006 and while it was very definitely busy, the lift system coped very well with the crowds. They have a number of high speed detachable chairs which can really shift the punters.
If you like the look of the deal, then go for it !

Hi David - had a look at your chalet and it looks amazing! The reason we are not looking at La Rosiere is the transfer time from Geneva - I think I would be ready to slit my wrists with that transfer after the flights with all the sprogs involved!
Thanks though,
Mirjam

Hi Brian, thanks for that and the other link by Ray Zorro is useful too. I think that if we can get it, we'll go for it!

Mirjam, just to add to your confusion, the FIRST week of February will be fine - nobody on holiday in France till the 8th!

Thanks Pam - it's probably going to be 8th now! I've posted my two options now, one of which would be w/c 8th (my preferred option I think...!)
