Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski Hire - Which level should I choose?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi All,

I am off skiing on Jan 5th to Courchevel 1850. I am always unsure which level ski I should hire - the options are normally something like Bronze, Silver, Gold.

I have been skiing for about 6 years now - on this next ski holiday I want to put some practice in to carving, mougles and maybe some off piste. Which level ski should I opt for OR which types of ski should I be looking to request when in the hire shop?

Thanks,

Chris

I'd take a little list taken from ski reviews for 'all mountain skis' and see if the shops stock any - they can cope with most types of skiing. You probably wouldn't find these types in the Bronze packages though.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

blondends, Personally I would ignore the "gold", "silver" etc... ratings and, instead, get a recommendation for a good hire shop in 1850 from a Snowhead and discuss your requirements with the shop when you get there. There's no substitute for expert advice!

Thanks guys - sorry for the late thank you, I have just got back from a New Years jaunt to Tenby (where we had no internet connection).
