Poster: A snowHead

4 of us are thinking about a cheap trip there in Jan. Any ideas on where best to stay? Or best to avoid? There seems to be some good deals, incl lift pass, on the La Rosiere web site.

foley, we have some availability in Jan. Check out www.tracksvacations.com for full details and don't forget to click on special offers - free lift pass with every adult booking in Jan & Feb. We've had the best start to the season for over 10years, there's masses of snow and more forecast.

foley, if you are looking for posh self-catering, les Cimes Blanches is very nice.

WWW.mountainheaven.co.uk now have a catered chalet in La Rosiere, must be worth a look based on the quality of their operation in Montalbert

foley, Would second Les Cimes Blanches we liked it. Good location for those who can already ski not ideal for beginners.

foley,
I can recommend tracksvacations. Were stayed there last January, the rooms are cosy and well decorated, the food is superb and over all great value. We are going back over Christmas.

Some of the others in my afternoon ski class were staying in the Cimes Blanches and they raved about it. Also the advantage with it being in Les Eucherts is that you get a seat on the ski bus as opposed to standing room or sometimes not even being allowed on at all which is what seemed to happen to those staying on the edge of La Rosiere. It is also very near to what is supposed to be the best restaurant in La Ros.

Loads of useful replies, thanks all.
The guys I'm going with are keen to book something direct through the La Ros web site. It's very cheap but from the photo's it doesn't look too bad and it's right by the lifts
