Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Goggles???

I'm off snowboarding in Feb to L2A and I'm currently in the market for a good pair of goggles. Budget is not a big consideration.

Any advice on goggles and especially lens colour would be greatly appreciated ...

I have 2 pairs Oakley Wisdoms (Black iridium for when its sunny) and Crowbar (H.I Yellow for when its overcast/snowy)-highly reccommend both! If you do a forum search it'll throw up a whole lot on this.

With goggles, you tend to get what you pay for. It depends which design fits your face as to which you should choose, and if you wear a helmet, which fits best with that.

There are lots of good makes, some favoured by skiers and some by snowboarders although I imagine they all do the same job at the end of the day.

I have a couple of pairs of Smith goggles, one pair with rose-tinted lens (good for random sun/cloudy days) and one pair with yellowy lens for cloudy/flat light days.

If you're going somewhere very sunny, you'd probably be better going for slightly darker lenses. Cool

I have skied with Quiksilver Whazoo 2 googles for four years and they have been amazing. Visibility is excellent in all conditions and only ever get condensation build up on the lense if the top vent is blocked with snow. Just by running your finger along the top and clearing the snow de-mists them and you're on your way. The majority of the time I use an orange chrome lense. I have had Oakley before, they are pretty similar in quality so go for the one that looks the best!

Even though I ski, I use Anon boarding goggles which offer great peripheral vision. My neck isn't as mobile as it used to be and every little helps.

Try some on, see what fits your face and feels right, very important if you ever wear a helmet as not all goggles fit all helmets properly.

Personally I like Adidas Yodai.
