Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi all, looking to go away middle of March, howeve im afraid this will be the first skiing holidy that i book. For that reason i would like to know some ideas on where to look for holidays and if there is a tour operator that the majority of you on here use? All input greatly appreciated!

davealsolh,
I think the biggest single operator used by individual snowHeads is DIY. wink
Most of the main operators are used by people at various times.
Mid March this year will be Easter period for many people and prices may not be cheap.
Depending on how many are going DIY will often work out cheaper than tour operator at this time.
You will probably get a lot of suggestions if you say a bit more about your requirements.
How many people, Experience, ski v boarding, ages, accomodation preferred etc.
A personal opinion is that having a reasonable altitude to the skiing and a bit of north facing stuff is usueful insurance against a warm spell in March.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Mid-March is Easter but school hols (UK) are all over the place this year so prices will vary from mid-March until late April. My kids Easter hols are 7th - 21st April, I know of others who have last two weeks in March. I've booked 15th - 23rd March and it's cheaper than April!!! Hope this helps.

As ever - Uk consumers are often being ripped off by using package tour operators.

Friends who lived in Germany for 4 years regularly skiid Austrian resorts, finding some great family hotels where kids under 11 went for free!! They reckoned doing it themselves cut the costs of a family holiday by half (allowing for the travel element).

They even found a hotel where the bar was free (within limits) in the early evening.... Smile
