Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I've got boots (32's) I think I can mould using heat but I've never done it before.

(looking to reduce from pain factor 10 to something a bit less)

can anyone advise how to do this?

thx in advance!

deejbee, welcome to snowHeads!
Best bet is to go to Bicester to see CEM (www.solutions4feet.co.uk), Lockwoods in Leamington Spa, or in third place, Profeet near Putney Bridge. It's not really something that you do yourself, but get a professional to do it.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I had a pal that molded his own plastic climbing boots, it was fairly straight forward.

He put on his normal socks then some roasting bags, put his boots on tight and stood in a deep bowl of boiling water, until they leaked,
a quick trip to A and E at the local hospital, job done.

I did think there was not much to it though I thought about wrapping my feet in aluminium foil over the socks before putting the roasting bags on, so keep the heat out.

I'm not so sure i want an A+E visit before going this boarding this year so i might just try profeet since they're just down the road. (hopefully they know about snowboard boots too)
