With forecasts for a "dump" this weekend, I thought I would start a campaign for getting rid of the word "Dump", problem is despite thinking about this for a while I can not think of a better expression.
Any ideas?
Alternatively, I suppose a different word for an enormous cr*p might do the trick.

What's wrong with "dump" - after all we talk about it p1$$ing down with rain, so why not dumping snow?
...also, using the other meaning of dumping (i.e. not toilet related), some would talk about it "tipping down"
Some places make reference to the clouds releasing a "Mother Lode".
But you could always talk about the number of inches/cms expected, or that fell, something like "Aspen had 9 inches of fresh snow on Wednesday, and are predicting another 3-4 tomorrow"
And then if it's more than, say, 50cm in one day, just point out that the next day is a "Powder Day"

jbob,  How long did it take you to dream that lot up? Actually, I don't object to dumping being used for snow. It's a perfectly good word, doesn't have to have lavatorial connotations. Let's keep it for snow, but dump it for the other...

There seems to be a difference between what us snowheads think of a dump - a enormous communication route blocking discharge, and the ski biz (a few flakes). Having heard all this talk of a weekend dump from the UK armchair pundits all I've seen, on the ground, in the alps is SFA.

Not my work, it was just cut n paste. Apparently the Eskimo words for snow thing is a myth, firstly there are lots of different Inuit languages, and there are only a couple of base words for snow, the rest are prefixed or suffixed versions, so either there are only a few or millions depends on your definition of a word. Apparently in english over 40 distinct frozen water related words have been identified.
I like flurries.
Not much further forward with the dump project.....
