Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi,

I have just purchased some ski wear from Aldi at some good prices and I was wondering if anybody knows how good these are.

I got a ski jacket and some salopettes.

Just seeing if anyone has had these before?

Cheers.

jdayuk, I bought jacket and salopettes from Aldi last year. Very happy with the salopettes, nice fit and very comfy . Not so happy with the jacket though, the fit was very strange and the zips were a little shoddy. Saying that, it was very cheap, did what it was supposed to do and kept me warm n dry!

Cheers
Very Happy

jdayuk, Welcome to Snowheads.

I took a look at them to day, was almost tempted by the softie Jacket.
However I heard a shop assistant telling another customer that some of the stuff has not shown up because of Supplier problems. snowHead

Just bought a pair of soft-shell pants, goggles & sports glasses & a camelback-type rucksack... OK, perhaps they're not going to prove to be top quality, but they seem absolutely fine, & they are indeed a steal! As back-up kit, I think they're unbeatable Very Happy
Btw, the jacket & salopette combo for £40 looked decent enough as well - if anyone knows any beginners needing kit, it'd be a good place to look, I should think.
Quite a bit of stuff left in the MK Bletchley shop... oh, & we noticed two-way radios for £30 as well - think I might be popping back in there tomorrow to have a proper look at those...

Colboltwoman and I both bought the jacket and salopettes for £40. True what was previously said about the zips but rest of it is of fairly good quality and compares favourable with what i have used before. The jacket seems to fit me fine but being of average build i would be surprised for it not too.

The jacket comes with such refinements as an attached google wipe in one of the pockets, ipod pocket with hole for headphones to pull through, phone pouch, and zipped air vents along as the usual snow skirt, hood and lift pass pocket. Given that you can struggle to get salopettes for £40 in some places including TK Max the price is a steal, if you can settle for some that isn't top quality.

There was plenty of stock in the Southampton store last wekend so llook like the supply issue has been sorted. snowHead

i got the soft shell pants from aldi two years ago. They're fine for one season. The snow sticks to them a bit which makes them heavy. They wear out quickly, you get holes in them and then you get wet. But you get at least one seaon out of them. The new jackets look cool. They have zip on skirts around the waist and those thumb hole sleeves at the cuffs. The shell looks warm and water proof. I didnt get one on time though.
