Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Isola 2000 - Opening 8th December

They've declared themselves open from 8th of December ( and appreciating it has 9,000 snowhead fans, I thought it best to keep you updated!)

23 out of 43 uplifts and about one half of the pistes. Allegedly 20/40cm low to high but nothing I can as yet see.

Isola

Auron is also 'White in the Heights' ( to mis-quote) but won't open until another natural snowfall ( this weekend?). Valberg has a covering on the upper slopes but is saying nothing that I can construe as opening.

Will be cheap skiing for anyone wanting a pre-xmas run or two ..

One of my first skiing holidays was to Isola. They used to play "Do the hustle" which could be heard all over the resort. It was great to ski to. I keep thinking I'd like to go back.

johnboy, Very, very little at the moment. It's burnt off most South-facing slopes but has been stunning, even before the PSB we had it down to about 1100m ( I'm always guessing the exact level, but you know what I mean).
