Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I saw the dakine gloves and other makes in our store too. I had a look, but must admit to being a bit warey of gloves made of leather - I'm sure it was that make that was made of leather. I know it can be waterproofed, but wondered if a leather glove would be more prone to getting soaked than synthetic, and possibly harder to dry as well?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The Dakine gloves i tried on were fully synthetic: goretex etc.

Megamum,

Leather gloves are the best, IMV...you need to look after them and tend to the leather but all materials have waterproof coatings and leather gloves aren't any different......

I am not sure about cheap gloves though, whatever the make...!! I think you should have two pairs and rotate them... after a slow dry-out over night. Cold wet hands is not any fun at all and you can't take enough gloves.

In my pack I'll likley have a cotton inner...just to take the freeze off in the event of the gloves being damp, if need be, and a pr of fleece gloves as a make-shift spare set. You just can't get caught out not having a hat or gloves, IMV
