Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Meribel Transfer

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hey, so I'm going out to Meribel for the season, and I'll be flying into Geneva, arriving at 2:30pm. Can somebody please tell me the transfer options to Meribel.

I've looked at the SNCF, but on trying to book some tickets, it asked for some travel card details (Like a Swiss Young Person's Railcard) but as I don't have one I'm stuck.

I also looked at the Alpski-bus, but they only leave once a day at 3:30pm, so I'm not sure if I've got enough time.

So I'm putting it to you snowheads.

The train between Geneva and Meribel (or BSM) is really bizarre - takes ages, and involves changes.

If you're going for the season, why not fly in - spend the night in Geneva (and most the day) then transfer out for following day - Geneva is a pleasant city to spend a day?

We've used Altibus (Alpskibus) for transfer to Val Thorens. Having a quick look at the timetable (www.altibus.com), the frequency of the service depends on the day, with up to six sevices on a saturday with a last bus at 8pm.

Alternatively you could squander a huge pile of cash on a private transfer - we've used www.3vt.co.uk in the past.
