Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

The little pub down the side of the Grosvenor hotel used to be good, but it's a few years since I lived up that way, so things might have changed.

Harkers down by the canal is a nice pub and it has a few nice ales.

Take a look at the CAMRA site below for Chester guide.

Thwaites Bitter plus Guest Ales
When a kitchen fire caused severe structural damage to this converted Georgian edifice one worried whether the place would survive. Luckily it did and has fairly prospered ever since especially from a real ale perspective with four to five handpumps principally featuring local small breweries. Enjoy them in the spacious high-ceilinged central bar with views over the canal basin or in the upstairs restaurant which doubles as a contemporary art gallery. Below, and curtained off during the day, is the dance floor and stage reserved for salsa nights and regular live music. Cold Play and the far better Half Man Half Biscuit have played here. Branch Autumn Pub of the Season 2005. Restricted entry applies most evenings so phone in advance to avoid disappointment.

I also go here quite a bit - some good bands play.

Third vote for harkers - lots of guest ales including 'spitting feathers' brewed locally by a mate of mine Matt Walley, its a fine pint www.spittingfeathers.org. Telfords is also a good pub and my afterwork drinks venue of choice nowadays when I'm in Chester. I'm pretty sure ssnowman, is talking about the Albion pub on Albion street which is legendary in Chester for its excellent food (great haggis on the lunchtime menu) and the landlord who's a real character. Well worth a visit. Two good Sam Smith pubs for really cheap pints are The Falcon on the corner of Lower Bridge Street and The Boot on Eastgate Rows. You won't go thirsty in Chester.....

Swirly, ..... I have just passed Brannigans ..... (I'm strong in body & character... Laughing )

....At the door, in fluro jackets, I thought were Rob@rar, & JohnQ, in Les Arcs Ski Club attire .. Toofy Grin, ... had come to Chester to greet me & partake in the Real Ale Fest. However they were 'Elite Security' - 'Personel' with various communication devices in every ear - guarding the entrance portals ... they had obviously remembered Dobz, & Swirly, 's 'good night' and invoked the 'Right-of-entry' legislation, having recognised my stylish snowHeads head attire & citing his Darkside failings ...... Laughing Brannigans must be a serious place ... Toofy Grin

Scarpa, ... great evening, thanks ... and followed by sumptous Indian cuisine ... Very Happy (All a treat to me - living in the Sahara of real ale & Indian food)

... and unlike Engeland ... it's not over yet ... FSI, ... The Boot tomorrow ..... Very Happy
