Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

queen_sheba - if there are then I've not found them. Would it help if I told you that SMALLZOOKEEPER really isn't wink but that NAKED could be - but only for (err, humm) **SPECIAL** bookings...? #

Besides, it's only an hour and a bit away. And they do beer... &

I would be very interested too as I go to Les Gets every year - my boots gave up the ghost last year. I know Berthet and Splery sports fairly well as I always hire the kids stuff from there, however I have no idea if they have any specialist boot fitters of any merit.

Anyone else have any pointers..!?

Only shop I've used is Michaud Sports in Les Gets, but that's mainly the rental shop and workshop round the side, rather than the main shop. Never had boots fitted there though, so can't comment, but Jaques + son have always been helpful.

My husband bought boots at Michaud in Les Gets in the summer - found them very helpful and knowledgeable, and although he hasn't actually skied in the boots yet Very Happy is very happy with how they look in the cupboard! He was also a little put out by how stunned the fitter (s) seemed to be by the width of his feet - calling colleagues in from other parts of the shop etc. However, as they fitted said boots to said very wide feet, he is hopeful that they are OK Shocked

MrQ bought his boots from StarSki in Morzine, just near the ESF, a few years ago. He rates them highly.

Good point. I'd forgotten about Starski - probably the best of the Morzine bunch.

hmmm.....i hired from them last year. had major problems with my boots. i ended up with a 50 year old pair of blokes boots. wasn't happy.

plus i'm staying in les gets so might go with them as mucking about backwards and forwards to morzine won't be fun.

any other tips though. sorely tempted to visit smz but again same problem if they require adjustment!

cheers

Berthet Sports in Les Gets - they have high quality service and gear, again as Tatty, said above, not sure about specialist boot fitter in the village but would go straight there if were me.
Also, if you needed to go to Morzine, its only a few minutes bus ride.........
