My wife and I are considering a week in Gressony. Anybody out there care to share their opinions of the place? I've got a 2003 "Where to Ski" which gives it a good write up. We know there's little night life but for us that's not a problem. Both intermediate skiers (who isn't). There are plenty of resorts that we would prefer, e.g. Sella Ronda but they are a lot more money and we've already got another week booked.

I've skied there for a few weekends, mostly off piste, I love the place, it's not busy at all, and has a good lift system with hands free lift pass

Or Champoluc...it gets good press for being more suitable for the a less die-hard attitude and is lift-linked to Monterosa skiining

Stayed in the Hotel Dufour which is actually attached to the lift station, quiet place, but a nice ski area for intermediates. The area is linked to Champoluc and if you are feeling adventurous go over to Alagna.

Its great, dead at night, gets busy at weekends, but uncrowded in the week. Ski in ski out. Adventures if you want them. Remember a red run back to the resort not for beginners, and it really is dead at night , we tried we tried.

Oooops! Forgot the search! However, most of the search results were more about Champoluc and there might have been more recent experience to tap into. We fancied Gressony as being in the middle of the Monterosa so that we didn't have so many same initial runs each morning. Anyway, thanks for the input.
