What are the options for transferring from Innsbruck to nearby resorts on a Thursday evening and then coming back Sunday night?
Need a bus I reckon to have room for skis/board + cheapness.
Any websites I can book on?

Taxi. Many are VW Transporter type. Somewhere like Igls can't be more than 20 mins max so it isn't going to cost the earth. Maybe ask your hotel what local taxi firm charges to airport. There are buses from all the resorts but not sure about night service.

If it's a ski resort type of taxi they will - quite a few people take skis and snowboards with them.  Small bus type ones tend to have trailers and/or racks on the back. The suggestion to ask your hotel is a very good one, or the resort website might have links.

The resorts I'm thinking of are:
Ischgl, Mayrhofen, Lech
1hr in a taxi might be quite a lot, what do you reckon?
Plus the return fare on Sunday...

GordonFreeman, As regards Mayrhofen, one option is to just get a short taxi transfer to Innsbruck main railway station, then get a train to Jenbach and transfer platforms to the Zillertalbahn narrow gauge railway which runs all the way from Jenbach to Mayrhofen.

Hmm but then that sounds like a lot of extra effort and more time.
Would renting a car be reasonable?

GordonFreeman, rewind... I thought you were talking about the resorts around Innsbruck like Igls, Axams etc. If it's Mayrhofen etc you're talking about then maybe a rental car is best idea. For such a short trip you could always consider staying in Innsbruck and using the excellent bus system to sample a different area each day.

Yeah sorry, I meant flying into Innsbruck and heading to some of the bigger resorts within 1-1.5 hrs from the airport.
A rental car would be good but there's parking and snowchains needed?
I'm really trying to find a bus service...

GordonFreeman, parking not a major issue; your hotel will have space or make arrangements. Order chains with the car but you're unlikely to need them if it's Mayrhofen. Lech more likely.

Taxi or bus to the main railway stationin Innsbruck and then get the train.
Change at Jenbach, I think, for Mayrhofen - there is a local line all the way down the Ziller valley.
Change at Stuben for Lech and Landeck for Ischgl, then its Postbus or taxi from the stations

Arlberg nailed it. And I beleive Mayrhofen will be the easiest of your options. (although surely St. Anton would be a cinch, too). You don't say what you mean by Thursday evening and Sunday night, but you can figure the train schedules out yourself here: http://www.oebb.at/
